Denehey Added to the Roster
The Chambers Franklyn Joondalup City Wolves are thrilled to announce the signing of another young SBL star and Perth Lynx Development Player in Georgia Denehey to the 2019 Wolves Women’s roster.
Denehey, despite just her tender 20 years of age, is already something of a stalwart at SBL level, having debuted for the Southwest Slammers at an incredible 13 years of age, cementing her place as a consistent starter at just 16 years of age.
Emphasised by her starting role for the South SBL All-Star team during the All-Star weekend of 2018, Denehey is fast emerging as one of the best point guard’s in the State, a fast and polished performer with elite decision-making abilities.
Wolves CEO Cameron Britt, speaking on behalf of the club’s List Team, explained that securing a young player with substantial playing experience is a rare and special find that represents a critically important acquisition for the club’s WSBL list regeneration.
“Georgia is identified as the quintessential recruit – young, highly talented, extremely passionate about the game and importantly, vastly experienced at the SBL level” Britt said.
"With Shani coming back into the 2019 line-up when she’s ready, we are thrilled to welcome Georgia to the club to support our ball-handlers and add genuine pace to our backcourt” Britt concluded.
