Interested teams are being urged to formally register their interest for the upcoming leagues with Futsal Geelong / City of Greater Geelong by completing the Online Registration Form (see link below)

The 2018-19 Summer season will be the first time the Geelong Soccer Sevens leagues will be offered, following on from a successful eight-team Men’s open aged pilot competition over the winter, the Soccer Sevens program is played on the new $2 million outdoor FIFA- standard facility at the Leisuretime Sports Precinct, and participation in this new version of the game is expected to expand significantly.

Apart from multiple Men’s Senior divisions, there are expected to be other categories such as Women’s, Masters Over 35’s as well as some junior age groups leagues also proposed to be offered during the summer season.

The Futsal Geelong Summer League this year is in its 10th year and has experienced significant growth since its inception in 2008 in which just 11 teams took part. The 2017-18 Summer league had over 250 teams playing futsal weekly across its Belmont & Bell Post Hill venues and is expected to again draw a lot of interest for the 2018-19 season.

The new seasons for the Geelong Soccer Sevens are expected to commence mid-September and will conclude prior to Christmas with a second season proposed to then kick off in mid to late January 2019.

The Futsal Geelong Summer Leagues kick off from late September / early October 2018 and conclude throughout February and March 2019 (breaking over the Christmas /New Year period).

Is only available at the Leisuretime Sports Precinct in 2018 with games played on the new $2 million FIFA-standard outdoor synthetic pitch (officially opened April 2018).

Soccer Sevens is played on half a regular soccer pitch, with smaller goals, 7 players per team & 2 x 20 minute halves.

This new modified version of the game is a great way for those that love the game of football to get out and active in a fun, friendly and less competitive format of the game than traditional outdoor club football.
