The Mid West Football League is proud to honour an outstanding administrator, official and volunteer. This recognition focuses on the outstanding service to our league, but he has had an enormous impact at club and zone levels also.
Originating from Whyalla, Peter, Karen and family moved to the Central Eyre Peninsula in the early 2000’s immediately becoming actively involved in local sport and community. Peters influence with the League started with the Colts Committee, leading up to Presidents role, and then transferred to the MWFL executive leading up to Presidents role.

With these role goes an extension of duties, such as delegate to the Western Zone Junior Football Council, the Mortlock Shield Committee, the Eyre Peninsula Zone Council, dealing with zone level issues, carnivals and Zone representative teams, In all these years Peter has applied a hands on approach, team manager at Mortlock and May interleague, Port Adelaide Cups and Kinlough Cups, attendance at Zone matches as President. His involvement goes on and has touched every aspect of our sport.
Peter is efficient in managing workloads, understanding what needs to be done and diligently going about getting great outcomes for our league. He runs a tight ship in meetings, staying on Agenda and ensuring that issues are dealt with in a professional manner. He has an astute understanding of regional issues and remains calm when dealing with pressure situations. Ceremonies for the League such as medal counts, presentations, grand finals and carnivals have been handed with the poise of a professional MC, and moves quickly through what needs to be said and done. We are lucky as a League as he also apples his energy and sporting passion to the Bowls world in the off season with similar outstanding results, maybe the best bowls surface in Country Australia!
He is approachable by all clubs and enjoys a high level of admiration and respect across the entire region. More recently he has been assisting clubs understand and work with new technology of the digital age. He continues to be active behind the scenes at league level and also at his club.
Mid West is grateful for the support of his wife Karen, and Ashlin and Kelsha for their patience as Peter devotes time and expertise to our League.
Mid West Football League is honoured to bestow Life Membership upon Peter Cock as due recognition of many years of distinguished service.
