B Grade
Elliston vs West Coast Hawks
The Roosters host the smarting West Coast Hawks, very indignant that their double chance was snatched from them in the last round and determined to set things straight here. Likely to be two very different teams, a young running Hawks against a much more experienced Elliston. Two successful units in the B Grade, Elliston five premierships, Hawks six.
No Hawks A Grade or Colts to hamper selection issues not a luxury presented to the Roosters! Never forget however that this is the home of the Rooster and they play well here always.
Elliston have a list of players who could well be in the A Grade, Matt Bascomb, Lachy and Jesse Custance, Tom O Flaherty, Robbie Pickett, Matt Reeves and Josh Theodorous all high level performers. This indicates depth at the club this year. Grand masters Chad Fleming, Frank Kenny and Steve Agars heading a host of younger runners. Jack Notely, Jordan Little and Jed Kenny are terrific ball winners, Clint Gardiner has enjoyed a great season and charges in to the contest.
The Hawks will have speed on tap, guided by old wise heads of Simon Tucker and Dion Trezona. Likely A Graders include Harmyn Baldock, Damien Johnson and Nathan Johnson. Paul Feltus has played great footy all year as always, and goal sneaks Hayden Brands, Tyson Squire and Mitch Gazzola will take some holding. Hawks play their best when the ball is moving quickly, Jonti Brice, Jacob Baldock, Bailey Hawes and Nathan Hill thrive when there is pace in the game.
Good reasons for both teams here. Probably not likely to be a shoot out as the pressure of finals doesn’t allow this. Elliston at home and momentum leading into the finals, but is the Hawks ability to pick a team from a wider list a too big of an advantage here?
Hawks 20 – 30
