Mid-West Football President's 2nd Semi-Final Welcome
Once again, welcome to all players, supporters, life members and sponsors to Wudinna for our 2nd Semi-Final.
Thank-you to all the supporters, club officials and players who faithfully turn up each Saturday no matter what. They all help contribute week in-week out and are the life-blood of our great Mid-West footy competition.
Also, thank-you to Wudinna United for hosting the 2nd Semi-Final. Wudinna United are proven hosts, given their well organised 100th year celebrations earlier in the season and have excellent facilities for playing and watching football and netball.
As some may have heard, Mid-West has a meeting on Monday 27th August with all clubs regarding the future structure of our Colts and B Grade competitions.
This meeting is in no way a discussion about the Leagues future or the future of any clubs. Following recent club meetings, all Mid-West clubs have assured the League, that they are looking forward to competing in 2019.
Both the Colts and B-Grade competitions may need restructuring to enable greater viability and to maintain competitiveness. All clubs in the Mid-West Football League are affected by the ongoing loss of population, evidenced in 2018 by the increase in B Grade forfeits and the continued unevenness in the Colts competition.
Hopefully through the clubs, the League can come up with solutions to help resolve these issues, in readiness for 2019.
Best of luck to all football and netball teams competing. Enjoy the day and please get home safely.
Cheers
Matt Cook
President
Mid West Football League
