THERE will be a total of four games played across the Geelong Region this weekend in the ‘Catch Up round’, with the pick of the action being the lone Women’s Division 1 clash between traditional rivals Drysdale and Deakin Ducks.

Drysdale will be fighting for a spot in the top four when it travels to Waurn Ponds to take on the Ducks at the Deakin Uni Sports Precinct on Saturday.

Drysdale is just three points behind Bell Park and has a superior goal difference, putting it right in the mix for a top four finish. It is a must win game for Drysdale, if the Bellarine outfit can manage to defeat the Ducks, the result will thrust last year’s League Champions into fourth position on the table.

In Men’s Division 1,the action will kick off tonight when Barwon hosts Breakwater Eagles at Grovedale Reserve at 7:30pm.

Barwon desperately needs a win to stay in touch with the Top Four while Breakwater will be aiming to cause an upset and register its second win of the season.

Newly crowned league champions Geelong Rangers will visit Drysdale at the Drysdale Sporting Precinct on Sunday afternoon.

The result of the game won’t affect Rangers as they have already taken out the ‘first past the post’ title, but Drysdale can move into 7th spot - above Lara United - if they are able to defeat the Myers Reserve outfit.

In the other Men’s Div 1 clash, Barwon will front up for its second match in three days when it hosts Corio at Grovedale Reserve.

If Corio win this match, it will mean that the Eagles consolidate their fourth spot on the ladder going into the final two rounds.

If Barwon was to be victorious, assuming the Blue and Whites overcome Breakwater tonight, the win would move the reigning champions up into the top four at the expense of Corio.
