With the GVL competing in the AFL Vic Community Championship at the MCG against Ballarat Football Netball League in May this year, GVL TV took the opportunity to showcase to the public what really happens behind the scenes for the players wearing the purple and gold.
David Roff praised the GoTAFE Goulburn Valley League’s strong social media presence.
“This documentary allows everyone into the inner sanctum hearing from both coaches and players from behind the scenes and tells the uncut story of the AFL Victorian Community Championships.”
“It’s a side to the big day that not every gets the opportunity to experience so opening that up to the public allows everyone to really feel the intense and emotional build up.”
“With a strongly growing social media presence, we are excited at this opportunity to get information out to our followers. Currently, our GVL TV Episodes have been viewed over 13,503 times and has reached over 151,000 people on Facebook”.
“The game is so important to so many people so being given the opportunity to take part in the elation of the win is very exciting and we’re especially pleased to bring this to our fans and supporters.”
“The icing on the cake is that the story has a happy ending with a fantastic and courageous victory”.
AFL Goulburn Murray Commercial and Marketing Officer, Tegan Fairley is delighted with the final outcome.
“Wanganui students, Ewan McMillan and Charles Simpson have been actively involved in the production of all GVL TV episodes this season and were given the opportunity to put together the GVL Documentary”.
“It’s a great introduction to the media world for the students gaining real experience in production of material which can only help better their prospects of the young people involved.”
“With the resources available, time constraints due to both students studying full time and a completely new concept for them, we are extremely proud of the finished product.”
“It’s fantastic that the Wanganui students have been given this opportunity to produce a documentary that really captures the hard work and passionate people involved in representing the GVL.”
“It’s really going to bring the game back to the people in a really personal way and that’s exciting.”
“They’ve worked really hard at this and hope it’s given them some insight and invaluable knowledge to take away.”
