It just wasn’t Kardinia’s day on Saturday as the young students conceded a heavy defeat at the hands of the Ducks, who won the match in ruthless fashion as they came away with all three points from Kardinia College’s Bell Post Hill campus.
Unfortunately, the names of Deakin’s goalscorers were not submitted by the club in time for the report.
Kardinia remains second last on the league table with a total of just seven points after Round 14.
Over at Banyul Warri Reserve in Torquay, Surf Coast hosted Barwon in the Surf Coast Highway derby. Unfortunately the home side couldn’t end its recent winless run of games - which has now stretched out to eight consecutive defeats - as the Coasters were narrowly defeated 3-2 by the reigning Grand Finalists.
Jessica Kenyon, Michaela Buchanan and Amy Ralph scored a goal apiece for Barwon which saw the visitors take home three valuable points.
Barwon sits in third spot on the league standings with 23 points, only behind second placed Deakin on goal difference.
Surf Coast remains in last position on the table with just five points for the season.
Fifth placed Bell Park will host top of the table Rangers in the traditional northwestern derby in an historic first ever Senior match for points at the Leisuretime Centre on Wednesday night to complete Round 14 of the Division 1 competition.
