NEWS: Community clubs need to have a range of welfare policies - including Anti-gambling policy
LOCAL Geelong region clubs that have already taken part in FFV’s new club development scheme, the FFV Club Engagement Program, would be well aware of the need for all community based football clubs to have a range of welfare policies. This includes an Anti-gambling policy (Under the banner of Inclusive Participation).
FFV partner, the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, offers such a policy, with the ‘Love the Game’ program and ‘Responsible Gambling Charter’ addressing this very serious modern day social issue.
As part of the program, when your club signs up, you will receive a free and interactive information session and whereby club administrators and members will gain knowledge about the harms from gambling, the risks involved and where to seek help if required.
Clubs will also receive face to face support as they implement the program and gain a competitive edge when seeking grant funding.
Surfside Waves are already a member of the program in the Geelong region, while Lara United and Geelong Rangers have also expressed interest in becoming involved with the program.
