Penina Davidson heads Breeze lineup against Tauranga on Saturday
Local basketball fans get a rare chance to see Tall Fern Penina Davidson in action on Saturday when Harbour Breeze entertain Tauranga City Coasters in a Women’s Basketball Championship (WBC) fixture.
The game is being played at AUT Sports Centre, Akoranga Drive with the tip-off set down for 1.00pm.
Penina, recently returned from an outstanding four-year stint at University of California Berkeley, scored 34 points in the 90-69 win against Taranaki Thunder in Opunake two weeks ago.
Also in the Breeze lineup are Tayla Dalton and Jazz Kailahi-Fulu. Both players have been selected in the New Zealand team to attend the FIBA U17 World Cup in Belarus next month. The pair are performing well in their first season of senior basketball with Tayla averaging 14.3 points per game and Jazz averaging 6.5 points and 8 rebounds per outing.
Penina is likely to be heading overseas to begin her professional career in the near future so come along to support her and her Breeze teammates on Saturday.
