Bayswater City’s lead at the top of the National Premier Leagues WA table is down to a single point with nine rounds to play.
 
Perth Glory’s 6-1 hammering of Forrestfield United on Saturday brought them to within striking distance of Chris Coyne’s men.

And Bayswater were unable to re-establish their four-point buffer as they went down 1-0 to Inglewood United on Sunday to complete Football West’s maiden Belt up. Round.
 
A deflected first-half strike from Jason Barrera was enough for Inglewood, who will see themselves still in contention sitting fifth and just seven points off the summit.
 
Inglewood coach Andy Keogh said his team were worthy winners.
 
“It was thoroughly deserved. They gave us a little bit of pressure but we were by far the better team and we could have won by a lot more,” he said.
 
Opposite number Coyne did not disagree and was sporting in defeat. “All credit to Inglewood, I thought they were hungrier on the day and I thought they showed that little bit more desire to go about and win the game,” he said.
 
Bayswater, who have yet to draw this season, have another huge game this Saturday at home to third-place Cockburn City.
 
Cockburn’s 4-2 home loss to ECU Joondalup means they have collected just one point from two matches as the campaign approaches the home straight.
 
Daryl Nicol’s third league hat-trick of the season proved too much for the Cockerels.
 
But it’s Glory who are emerging as Bayswater’s biggest challengers and the league’s top scorers were at it again at Ashfield Arena on Saturday as they put six past Forrestfield.
 
Michael Domfeh and Henry Hore both scored twice for Glory, who travel to ECU on Saturday.

Glory coach John Gibson said: "I'm a pretty demanding guy and I want to get better in every game.

"There's a lot of things we can still work on, the result was good as was the performance, but we've got a tough run of six games coming up now.

"We're always going to be exciting, energetic and enthusiastic, especially going forward, and it's just a matter of capitalising on those opportunities when they do come.

"But it's fantastic to see them add things to their game and I'm super happy. It's fantastic to see the guys share the goals around, they work hard and they deserve it."

The other side in what looks a five-way title race are Perth SC, who remain in front of Inglewood on goal difference following their 1-0 win at Floreat Athena.

Paul Zimarino’s strike just before half-time was enough for Ramon Falzon’s side, who avenged their recent loss to Athena in the FFA Cup.
 
The big game at the bottom saw Sorrento and Balcatta swap places in the bottom three following the Gulls’ 1-0 victory, while Subiaco needed an injury-time winner from Jackson Dongray to overcome bottom-of-the-table Joondalup United 3-2.
 
Belt up. State Cup finalists Armadale have been off the boil in the league of late. But John O'Reilly’s team came good with a 4-1 home win over Stirling Lions, who have now lost four on the spin and sit just three points above the relegation zone.
