Supporters of the South East Football Netball League (SEFNL) will have extra reason to cheer on Melbourne Vixens goaler Mwai ‘MJ’ Kumwenda for the remainder of the Suncorp Super Netball season.
The Malawi international, who played a key role in her country’s upset victory over New Zealand at the recent Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, has joined SEFNL and its major partner, the Berwick Motor Group, in a three-way partnership designed to give back to the local sporting community.
And it’s very simple how it works!
For every goal that MJ scores each week, Berwick Nissan, a member of the BMG Group, will provide $10 worth of value for every new-car purchase for the following week.
As an example, MJ scored 41 goals against the Collingwood Magpies in round one, so that equates to $410 worth of value, either off the purchase price, or worth of accessories, for a new-car purchase that week.
MJ has slotted 41, 34, 29, 47 and 38 goals so far this season, just getting her eye in for the remaining nine matches in the Suncorp Super Netball competition.
AFL South East Commercial Manager Wes Garth is excited about the partnership’s potential.
“MJ is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in netball, so for BMG, Berwick Nissan and SEFNL to be closely linked with her exploits is very exciting,” Garth said.
“Hopefully MJ can continue her great form and everyone involved in clubs from the SEFNL competition can benefit with some great reductions off their new cars.”
The Melbourne Vixens next game is against Sunshine Coast Lightning at 3pm this Saturday, June 2.
