The game was played in cold and miserable conditions and ended 1-1 with Mary Gazis scoring the only goal for Bell Park, while the name of Deakin’s only scorer was not submitted by the club.

The result leaves Bell Park still sitting at the top with eight points, now only one point ahead of Rangers. Deakin, meanwhile, now sits in 5th spot on the table with five points but have a game in hand on the top three.

Geelong Rangers came away from their clash at home to Surf Coast with a very comfortable win, defeating the Coasters 9-3.

Zoe Tizard notched up an impressive tally of four goals and Lara Heric scored a brace. Ally Van Dalen, Dani Mandic and Ruby Mccloskey also contributed to Ranger’big win with singles apiece. The goalscorers for Surf Coast FC were not submitted by the club.

The result leaves Geelong Rangers in second position, having closed the gap to league leaders Bell Park to just one point, while Surf Coast sits second last on the table with one point for the season.

A ruthless Drysdale had no mercy for Kardinia College defeating the young Students 8-0 at the Drysdale Sporting Precinct.

Shannon Daffy and Serena Stephens both had games to remember, scoring a hattrick each for the home side. Lauren Salaviejus was also on the scoresheet with a brace to make the score 8-0 come the full-time whistle.

This result moves Drysdale up to third spot on six points. The new look and inexperienced Kardinia outfit, on the other hand, is still at the bottom of the standings with nil points for the season.

Barwon SC enjoyed a break as they had a bye. Barwon currently sit 4th on the standings with a game in hand on the top three.
