NEWS: Tonight’s MiniRoos Hubs cancelled due to inclement weather around Geelong region
DUE to the adverse weather conditions that have wreaked havoc in the Greater Geelong region over the past 24 hours – and the likelihood the torrential rain and forecast gale force winds will continue well into the afternoon and early evening – all ALDI Miniroos games scheduled for both the Northern and Southern Hubs tonight are CANCELLED!
The Northern Hub was to stage its special Mothers’ Day Friday Night round under lights at the Geelong Rangers Soccer Club’s Myers Reserve complex in Bell Post Hill, while the Southern Hub was set to stage its round of matches at Surfside Waves’ Shell Road Reserve in Ocean Grove.
Hosting club representatives and the respective Hub Coordinators, in consultation with Football Federation Victoria (FFV) officials made the call around 1pm, taking into account the children’s (and attending families’) safety and welfare.
