Coach of the Month | Jason Power
Wolfpack Basketball has launched a new initiative, recognising the Coach of the Month across the entire Association. Yes that's Domestic, WABL and SBL.
Each month a coach will be recognised for their attitude, work ethic and alignment to our club vision.
Each monthly winner enters the draw at year end to win a $500 coaching grant, to better their skills and further develop their game experience and education.
Congratulations JASON POWER - February's winner!
Jason is a Physio who runs his own practice in Kingsley, and has been basketball mad since he first picked up a ball.
He loves all aspects of the game – the physicality, the strategy, and the necessary teamwork and loves all sport – but for him, basketball is “the beautiful game.”
He has three sons, all of whom have played in the domestic competition at JBS, and he has coached for the Giants for that entire time. He have always loved working with kids of all ages, and actually started his career as a Physio at PMH.
Jason says:
"Coaching for me combines things I love - developing other people, problem solving, teamwork and competing.
A big passion for me is helping young players see how the things they learn in sport can be applied to life off the court as well. More than anything – working with kids is fun, and makes you feel younger than you are"
"This year is the first year I’ve coached a Wolves side – and it’s a lot of little things that all aligned for me that allowed it to happen.
I’m fortunate enough to have a team around me (at work, and my wife!) that allow me to devote my time to this role, but I’ve also been really fortunate to be around some of the Wolves personnel (players, coaches, and the management) in the past couple of years to see the culture that the club is promoting – both on and off the court.
For me, it’s a perfect fit: to the point that I’m already teaching my U14 boys the Wolfpack values".
Well done Jason!
Stay tuned for the next nominee, in March 2018.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
