AFL Darling Downs are seeking men’s and women’s representative team coaches for the upcoming clash against AFL Wide Bay on Saturday 12th May.
The biennial clash will take place at Rockville Park, the traditional home of Australian Football on the Darling Downs. Two matches will take place on the day, with both a men’s and women’s Darling Downs Demons team selected in the lead up.
Key responsibilities:
- Tenure/expected commitment from mid-February to May
- Work with AFL Darling Downs management team to finalise all staff roles
- Attend AFL Darling Downs representative meetings
- Regular contact with community club coaches and AFL Darling Downs management team
- Develop initial squad in consultation with selectors
- Develop timeline for the program and a roster with AFLDD management team
- Attend one training session per week (club pre-season) and/or preseason matches + one match per week (regular season - Rounds 1 to 3)
We seek a self-motivated individual with
- Recent coaching experience at senior AFL community club level or representative level
- Minimum Level 1 Senior AFL coaching accreditation (Level 2 desirable)
- Preferably be independent of club football and/no direct/support role in 2018
- Ability to quickly foster a rapport with players
- Have passion for regional representative football and vision
