The Volleyball Victoria Primary Schools Cup (VVPSC) was held in conjunction with School Sport Victoria's State Volleyball Finals on Friday November 24, 2017. Only the second time this event has occurred it was again a major success with three new schools participating.
The event again included various divisions and age groups which catered to schools that were either new to the sport or have some experience with the sport (including through SSV, Sporting Schools, Spikezone, etc.). Additionally, the VVPSC provided additional playing opportunities for schools that had previously been eliminated from the SSV competition.
The Primary Schools Cup offered competitions for Years 3-4 and Years 5-6 in each gender and saw an increase in the number of team entries into each division from last year’s event.
The highlight for most of the participants was the very special visit from Volleyroo Sophie Paine. Sophie entertained the crowd for thirty minutes with many different stories and also included a demonstration with a very lucky player from Upwey South Primary School.
In total, the Primary Schools Cup saw 21 teams from 7 different primary schools participate at the event.

The VVPSC is a great way to get students out of the classroom and into a fun, active, and social environment. Volleyball allows kids to play sport as part of a team, with all players actively involved in the game (everyone is included!) and is a great way for kids to test their skills against other schools.
Volleyball Victoria invites and welcomes all Victorian Primary Schools to the 2018 Primary Schools Cup (Friday 23 November 2017) and looks forward to an exciting future in partnership with School Sport Victoria.
