More good performances from Harbour players in the States
The American College basketball regular season continued with multiple games involving Harbour players in the last few days.
There was a nice double from Brooke Blair as Idaho State Bengals mauled College of Idaho 89-32 and followed up by beating University of California Irvine 78-72. Blair scored 14 points v Idaho and 17 v Irvine – four straight wins for the Bengals and four straight double figure outings for the combo guard.
Tera Reed had a terrific start to her college career recording a second consecutive double figure points outing for Virginia Commonwealth. Unfortunately the Rams were easily defeated by Minnesota 108-63 but Reed, in just her second outing for the Rams, top scored with 18 points.
In other women’s action….
Tiarna Clarke enjoyed her first double figure outing for Northern Colorado Bears. The Bears are 4-0 after beating San Francisco 73-60 with Clarke scoring a valuable 10 points.
Ella Fotu and Hawaii Pacific Sharks headed up to Canada for their third game of the season recording an 82-76 win. Fotu produced 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Zara Jillings Fordham University Rams lost 55-52 at Boston College with Zara Jillings playing 20 minutes off the bench and contributing 2 rebounds, an assist and a block.
A double-double is becoming the norm for Katie Diakhaby at Northeastern in Junior College basketball. A monster 16 points and 14 rebounds helped greatly in the 79-77 win against Western Wyoming. Northeastern are now 3-5 for the season.
Amongst the men Matt Freeman knocked in 7 points and garnered 5 rebounds as Oklahoma Sooners defeated Ball State 108-69.
Three blocks for Jack Salt to go with 4 points and 4 rebounds as Virginia Cavaliers win at state rivals Virginia Commonwealth 76-67.
Denhym Brooke filled the stats line with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals but it wasn’t enough to stop Hawaii at Hilo slipping to a third straight loss, going down 84-79 at Central Washington.
Biola University Eagles made it three wins on the bounce defeating La Sierra 81-72. Forward Alex Talma is in good form and filled the stats line with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block in this one.
There was no action for Isaac Letoa at Dartmouth College as the team has a short break to undertake Fall examinations.
