NEWS: New initiative ‘Weekly Club Corner’ to update local community with all the off season football
GEELONG Region Football Committee (GRFC) has commenced a new off season initiative to keep people in the local football community informed with what is happening with all the clubs in the Geelong region during the ‘dead season’. To be called ‘Geelong Region Weekly Club Corner’, it will be a brief snapshot of news, events, coach or player advertisements at your local GRFC club.
What we are asking of each official Club Delegate is to send us a brief (no more than 100 words) summary of what is either happening at your club or if you are seeking players, coaches etc for a specific team or section of the club (i.e. Masters or Female).
The deadline will be every Tuesday night (5pm) and a summarised Report will then be compiled and published to the FFV Geelong website, GRFC Team App, Facebook (Geelong Region Soccer News), as well as via a blast email as early as possible on a Wednesday morning.
An example might be the following which was taken from the FC Leopold Facebook page during the week....
FC Leopold are now accepting applications for coaching positions across all age groups at the club, from miniroos to seniors. If you are interested in applying for a coaching position please message us for a copy of our application form. Senior applications close 31 October 2017 and Junior applications close 20 January 2018. In our debut season the club had three senior men's teams, an u/13's boys team, an u/11's, u/9's and two u/7's teams. With the expectation that participation levels at the club are only going to increase we welcome any new and past applicants to reapply.
PLEASE, do not send through JPEG images or PDF images, send in simple text form. Due to the sheer volume of submissions expected, it is unlikely we will have the time to re-type what is contained on your image files.
Also, do NOT send through links or messages to visit your Facebook page or website, either send in text form what you want included or don’t expect anything to be included!
First issue will go out next Wednesday morning – deadline is next Tuesday at 5pm!
