NEWS: Upcoming Futsal Geelong Summer season set to break all team records!
THE coming Futsal Geelong Summer leagues’ season is set to be the biggest one yet, with a record number of team entries expected to be received by the time the new season kicks off in a fortnight’s time.
With the Senior, Junior and Schools’ leagues kicking off during the week commencing Monday October 23, as of last Friday morning an astonishing total of 259 teams had either expressed an interest or officially registered to participate in the 2017/18 season.
Futsal Geelong has announced 146 Junior teams and 113 Senior teams had signed up for the various competitions, which will be played at Barwon Valley Activity Centre (BVAC) and the Leisuretime Centre in Bell Post Hill.
“It’s really going to be one massive season ahead with plenty of competition across all age groups,” Futsal Geelong said in an official memorandum on Monday.
“Some age groups/leagues/days are now at capacity and we are now looking at options to make new days/times available for those age groups or divisions that have already reached capacity yet interest continues to build.
“For teams that have completed and paid their teams registration for the 2017-18, you will be about to commence trial/grading games - you will be notified of game times via email so ensure you keep an eye out for these.
“For teams that have not yet registered their interest in getting a team in the Summer Futsal League, there is still time.
