NEWS: Local junior footballers urged to join the sports community in 2018 with SEDA College Victoria

JUNIOR footballers in Geelong are being sought to join the sports community locally by completing their Year 11/12 studies next year through SEDA College Victoria, whose Multi-Sport Sports Development program in Geelong has limited positions available for any interested students entering the higher secondary education years in 2018.

According to SEDA’s marketing coordinator Megan Smith, SEDA students enjoy going to school and if you’re into sport, chances are you'll like it too.

“Throughout the year, you’ll study in an applied learning environment, which means you’ll be running sports events and activities for young children and adults in the Geelong region,” explained Smith, referring to the Geelong program which is based out of Simonds Stadium.

“The dynamic program covers a number of sports throughout the year, including football! You’ll have one teacher and the same class mates for all subjects, which makes the transition from your current school to an Independent Secondary School less stressful,” explained Smith.

A typical week at school with SEDA might see students work at match days or sports events in Geelong and Melbourne, as well as visit local schools to teach kids basic skills across Football, AFL, Cricket, Basketball and Netball.

“You also don't have to be a great footballer to study at SEDA. A passion for sport and practical learning is what we look for in our students,” said Smith.
