Congratulations to Catani midfielder Paul Pattison who was a runaway winner of the EDFL 2017 Alf Walton medal for the league senior best and fairest which was held at the Warragul Downtowner on Monday night. Pattison polled 35 votes and won by 12 from Dusties midfielder Tyson Bale. Most likely it was a record number of votes and biggest winning margin in many years. He polled in 14 games while Bale polled in 11 and the third placegetter Kody Wilson received votes in nine matches. Pattison who was recruited over summer from the VFL Casey Demons could hardly have been more impressive this year. He has exhibited pace and stamina and one on the major reasons why the Blues have reached this year’s grand final.
