There will be no love lost between these two as they battle to keep alive their premiership aspirations.
They clashed at the same time last year in what was a hard fought contest, with the Tigers getting over the line that day.
Shepparton will be desperate to avoid a straight sets exit which many would probably say would be a failure after finishing a clear second at the end of the home and away rounds.
For Rochester winning a final would in many people’s eyes be a pass mark.
But there is no doubt that coach, James Flaherty won’t be settling with that and will be urging his players to leave nothing in the tank today.
Shepparton will start favourite despite not beating Rochester this year.
David Stretton, Nikolaus Rokahr, Mitchell Brett, Jonty Wardle, Edward Lindon and Luke Smith were all good players in the loss to Kyabram, while experienced duo Nick Allan and Ash Holland will be important to ensure the Bears get the win.
Coach, Brad Campbell will be hoping his players come out with the same intent as they did against Kyabram in the first half.
If they can do that then the likes of Nathan Marrone, Nicholas O’Connor, Steven Stroobants, Scott Oakley, James Gledhill, Mitchell Bright and Jarod Bacon will need to lead by example for the Tigers.
Rochester was outstanding in the last quarter against Euroa to ensure the victory.
Flaherty will be hoping the boys can take that momentum into the first quarter, which will no doubt be a very hot contest.
Tip: I think Shepparton should be able to move through if they can play the game on their terms.
