The new age group will join the current A Grade, B Grade, B Reserve Grade and 17&U age groups to play in the League.
GVL Chairman David Roff welcomed the new addition to the League.
“A 15&U age group has been a discussion point amongst clubs over the last couple of years” he said.
“The GVNL put the concept to clubs for a vote last year and with the coming together of the GVFL and GVNL this season the matter was again raised with clubs for their discussion and feedback.”
“A significant majority of clubs were in favour of the move so the Board has now endorsed it to proceed.”
“A working party consisting of Board member Jacqui Hudgson, club representatives Rochelle Hannon, Stacey Cole, Kate Carlile, Kelli Hill, Colline Egglestone and Netball Victoria’s Josie Logan has been established to investigate the structure of the new competition and to establish the logistics of its implementation.”
“Clubs have already begun working with their local junior associations to assist with the transition and its another exciting innovation for the growth of the League.”
“2018 will be a pilot year to give clubs a chance to work in with their local environment with the competition to be fully operational for 2019.”
