Week 1 of finals have completed with University advancing to the Under 12 and 14 Grand-Finals next weekend and the combined Coolaroo-Highfields into the McDonald's Cup Grand Final for the Under 16 competition.
The joint Chinchilla-Dalby (Under 12's & 16's) along with the South Toowoomba Bombers (U14's) kept their seasons alive after winning their respective Elimination Finals last week.

Under 12 McDonald's Trophy
Highfields-Coolaroo Vs. Dalby-Chinchilla
8:20am @ Rockville Park
Round 11 was the last time these two preliminary finalists met and it was the Dalby-Chinchilla side that finished victorious on that occasion.
The 16-point win on the back of an impressive display by Cody O'May, Hamish Waye and Blake Jacobson, saw the Swans-SUNS defeat their highly fancied opponents. However, the Dalby-Chinchilla side are the form team of this match up coming into the game on a three-game winning streak.
Highfields-Coolaroo are in a form slump and coming off the back of a two game losing streak, however both of those losses have come against the already locked in Grand-Finalist University.
Peltz Medallist Henry Sheath will be important for the Roos'-Lions and will be looking for support from the likes of Kallan Lee, Daniel Sheath and Charlie Bignell. The Swans are better match starters, winning more first quarters but it is the Roo's who finish games off stronger.
A match not to miss this Saturday! You try and pick a winner.
Under 14 McDonald's Shield
Highfields-Coolaroo Vs. South Toowoomba
11:30am @ USQ AFL Oval
The high flying Bombers meet the bouncing and ready to roar Roos'-Lions at USQ AFL Oval, in a stand-a-lone game at the ground (to allow for travelling teams and presentation evenings).
One of these two sides will break their Baker Street Hoodoo, with both teams not coming away with a victory at the venue this season. Last weeks Cougars versus Coolaroo-Highfields, was one of the games of the year and the Roos-Lions will no doubt be still up and about after their 6-point loss.
Samuel Dearnaley, Owen Debney and Harrison Copland will be keys in this Preliminary Final for the Roos'-Lions.
For the Bombers, Col Wells Medallist will need to continue his purple patch of form as will the likes of Riley Woodall, Braedan Hill and Aden Neary. However, the match up of the day and a key battle even though may not go head to head is the influence of Coda Stanmore (H/C) and Catie Koelmeyer (STB). Both Koelmeyer and Stanmore are pivotal if their side is to succeed but in finals, individuals can't do it alone.
Under 16 McDonald's Cup
University Cougars Vs. Dalby-Chinchilla
9:40am @ Rockville Park
Cougars and Swans-SUNS, finished second and third respectively after the home and away season. Both averaged very similar total scores for and also what was been kicked against them.
The combined Dalby-Chinchilla boast the likes of Lleyton Brown, Shaun Pukallus, Jonty MacDougall, Harry Coman and co. All very classy players and where they line-up and who against will be key in this battle. Shutting down that quartet or atleast the influence of two of those players is no doubt on the task list for the Cougars.
However, the Swans-SUNS will need to watch very, very closely the likes of Jaiden Fidge (Jack Barry Medallist), Dylan Biglands, Harry Potter and Storm Arnold.
This game oozes game breakers and x-factors galore, a rare early time-slot of 9:40am and the side that can hit the ground running in the first quarter will be key!
