NEWS: Register now for Summer Sevens at one of two venues in the Geelong region, starting October
DID you miss playing football this season? Want to get back into it without too much commitment? Then here’s your chance to sign up for Football Federation Victoria’s upcoming Summer Sevens’ off season tournament - to be held in Ocean Grove and Bell Park starting mid October.
After the successful Summer Sevens program held in the last off season by the Surfside Waves Soccer Club at its Shell Road Reserve complex in Ocean Grove, the same venue will host another Summer Sevens’ tournament on Wednesday nights, starting mid October this year.
The Ocean Grove event will be complemented by another Summer Sevens tournament, also commencing mid October, on Thursday nights in Geelong’s northern suburbs.
It will be held at Hume Reserve in Bell Park, which is the home ground for the Corio Soccer Club.
Summer Sevens is Football Federation Victoria’s (FFV) social format of the game. It involves seven players on each team on a modified, smaller pitch.
The competition runs for a total of seven weeks. With a large emphasis on fun, fitness and social benefits that only a team sport can offer, it is suitable for people of all ages and skill levels.
Summer Sevens is for players aged 10 and above and provides everyone with the opportunity to touch the ball more often, improve your skills and play in a more fun and social environment.
Registrations for Men’s, Men’s Masters, Women’s, Junior Boys and Juniors Girls’ categories are now open.
Registrations close on the 21st of September.
