Football
Mansfield and Echuca will be locked in an arm wrestle to have bragging rights to being the best team outside the top six.
Echuca has really struggled for victories in recent weeks, which effectively ended its finals aspirations while the Eagles have been fairly competitive in the past month, including an upset win over finals bound Benalla last weekend.
Leading the way in the win was Earl Ree-Goodings, Jamie Sheahan, James Herridge, Matthew Martin, Brett Mahoney and Ryan Bartlett.
The Eagles will be hoping this group can continue their good form to ensure the team ends the season with a win.
Simon Buckley has been a standout for Echuca and remains a strong chance to win back-to-back Morrison Medals.
If the former AFL midfielder does win it, it would be an outstanding personal achievement.
Jordan Florance, Cameron Valentine, Sam Toulmin, Brent McGrath and Tim Allan will be some of the players pivotal to Echuca finishing the season in seventh place.
Tip: Mansfield.
Netball
Echuca mathematically remains in contention to play finals if it wins as expected today and Rochester or Seymour do it favour.
Coach, Casey Frame will be reflecting on the season that was at around 4 pm today and wondering which defeat has proven costly if it does miss the finals as expected.
The Murray Bombers will go out and play this game without the knowledge of what is going on around the courts.
However as soon as its game is done it will be eager to find out the results at Seymour and Rochester.
Tip: Echuca.
