With three best on grounds in the first three rounds, Jaiden Fidge was hard to catch and held on by 1-vote as eventual runner-up Lleyton Brown stormed home in the latter stages of voting.
The Jack Barry Medal is awarded to the fairest and best player, judged by the Umpires in the Under 16 AFL Darling Downs McDonald's Cup competition.
It was Fidge's early season form, that saw him clinch the Jack Barry Medal and the former Redback recorded the maximum three votes in Round 14 to claim the medal over the Dalby Swans' Lleyton Brown in a vote count.
In total, Fidge recorded five maximum votes (3's), one - two vote and two lots of one votes.
To go with his 19 votes and Jack Barry Medal, Fidge also kicked 53-goals and debut in the University Cougars - Allied Pickford's Cup men's team.
