NEWS: Week 14 MiniRoos' Fixtures released for Sunday's Melbourne Victory Gala Day at Torquay
THE Aldi MiniRoos Northern Hub roadshow moves on to Surf Coast FC's Banyul Warri Reserve complex this Sunday for the annual Melbourne Victory Gala Day festival for Week 14 of the 2017 season. It is the one day when both the Northern and Southern Hub clubs come together to play each other.
It is anticipated that close to 1,700 junior players from the age of 5 to 11 years will participate on the day, while anywhere up to 3,000 coaches, parents, friends, club officials and interested spectators will will be in attendance.
As part of the big day, Melbourne Victory will be staging a special Presidents' luncheon for all Geelong region club representatives in the clubrooms, while the undoubted highlight of the day will be the special appearance of several of the Victory's A-League stars.
Although not yet confirmed which ones will be in attendance, it is likely that some of the main drawcards such as striker Besart Berisha, Soceroos Carl Valeri, Mark Milligan and James Troisi, as well as New Zealand international and returnee Kostas Barbarouses will be signing autographs for local fans on Sunday.
The MiniRoos Hubs comprise of all the U7s, U9s and U11s age group competitions, split between the Joeys (beginners) and Kangas (advanced) sub-leagues. The U7s play in 4v4 (players) on 1/8 the size of a full pitch, the U9s play 7v7, while the U11s play 9v9.
