A Louise Rolfe hat-trick has seen South West Queensland Thunder to a comfortable 5-2 win over Western Pride at Clive Berghofer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Thunder got off to a quick start and looked strong throughout, with early goals to Rolfe and Melanie Lloyd giving the hosts a two goal buffer leading into the half.
That early dominance continued into the second half as Rolfe stretched the margin to three before an own goal from the home side made it four.
A late goal to Zozia Sen added some respectability for Pride, but Rolfe put the result beyond doubt in the 83rd minute, capping off a deserved victory for the home side.
The win cements a mid-table finish for Thunder; while Pride will be looking to finish off their season on a positive note when they face Gold Coast at Briggs Road next week.
Key Moments:
3' GOAL TO THUNDER - Another corner from the left from BERRY, finds ROLFE at the back post who scores.
22' GOAL TO THUNDER - LLOYD chases down the ball with the Pride Keeper who tries to clear it but clears it straight into LLOYD who then wins scramble and scores.
