NEWS: 11 talented Geelong boys selected for TIDC Junior squads to tour Japan next week
ELEVEN up and coming Geelong youngsters have been chosen for a Victorian Select squad to tour Japan as part of Football Federation Victoria’s Talent Identification Development Centre (TIDC) scheme.

Out of the 11 U13 and U14 boys selected for the representative squads, ten are from the National Premier Leagues (NPL) pathways program at local boys’ representative club North Geelong Warriors.
They include U13 Squad members Julian Majic, Tae-min Brandwyk, Jett Nestorovski, Hugo Leban, Kooper Wright, Benjamin Portbury and Rocker Ramage who are all from North’s U13s program
The U14s include North Geelong players Jackson Lane, Angus Chapman and Bob Green, while Kane Shum from the Geelong Rangers was the only other player from the Geelong region selected.

"Credit must be given to Josip Zilic, Josip Skoko, Rick Noggler and all of our current and past coaches for their commitment over the past few seasons to provide a genuine first class learning environment that is now coming into fruition," said Srbinovski.
More than 120 talented local kids – both boys and girls – trialled for the inaugural TIDC program, which was held at Corio Soccer Club’s Hume Reserve earlier this year.
Apart from playing challenge matches against local Japanese school and academy sides, the tour will also include cultural experiences such as visiting local shrines and a Japanese fish market.
The FFV Junior tour group leaves Melbourne on Monday (August 14) and will return to Australia on August 21.
