Darling Downs Demons have named the initial Under 17 Darling Downs squad ahead of the October State Championships in Brisbane.
The training squad of 33 will be reduced to 23 by the end of August by the Demons coaching panel.
AFL Queensland Regional Manager, Jeff Neumann said it is an exciting time in the female space with the recent success of the Under 17 AFLQDD girls competition.
"The 2017 season of our Under 17 girls competition, was the best yet and in return we saw strong numbers trialling for the region's representative side," AFL Queensland, Regional Manager for the Darling Downs Jeff Neumann said.
"It was a tough decision to reduce the list from near fifty down to a training squad of thirty-three.
"Our training squad includes recently named All-Australian Zimmorlei Farquharson, Under 17 girls best and fairest Taylor Sutton and several players from the AFL Darling Downs Westpac Women's competition," Neumann added.
