Allied Pickford’s Cup ladder leaders, University Cougars will be looking to make amends for their last start loss as the reigning premiers face the in-form Goondiwindi Hawks at Riddles Oval.
The Hawks are soaring and will look to record their fourth straight victory when they face the wounded Cougars at home. Goondiwindi are averaging a winning margin of 133 points over the last three weeks and that has seen them soar into finals contention. David O’Toole and Adam Scoble are the reason behind the late season form spike combining for 38 goals since Round 10.
Former Holman Medallist, Jeremy Leahy has also regained some of his best form and combined with O’Toole and Scoble will again be keys to Hawks match up against the Cougars.
University are coming off a physical contest against South Burnett, where the Saints marched to a hard fought 9-point victory. The Cougars will be keen to make amends for this loss and a victory away from home against the Hawks, will see University lock in a top 2 finish heading into the finals.
In another intriguing matchup, Coolaroo will host the injury ravaged South Toowoomba Bombers in arguably the Roos’ biggest day of the year, their COBA’s Day. Past players will be out in force, as the men in navy blue look to continue the Bombers pain and secure themselves a Top 2 finish as September nears. Adam Green, who will no doubt be highly fancied in the Holman Medal has played a pivotal role this season and will again be a go to player for the Roos’.
South Toowoomba will welcome back, South Queensland representative Johnathan Leidig after representative duties in Cairns.
The Toowoomba Tigers will be looking to halt the marching South Burnett Saints, as they host the third placed Saints at Rockville Oval. South Burnett will be looking regain momentum ahead of another finals campaign, while the Tigers could decide if it is a top 2 finish or not for the Saints.

Toowoomba will be looking to return to the winners list, after the previously undefeated Tigers went down to the Dalby Swans by 20points at home. This week, the task is the much improve South Burnett Saints and no doubt the women in yellow and black, will be watching the Saints key players closely. The likes of Marika Burrows, Tameka Swifte and Jenille Pasfield will be keys for the finals bound Saints.
For the Tigers, Lillian Paterson, Jemma Whitney and Emily Hewitt, are key cogs in the Tigers machine.
In the other Westpac Women’s clash, the rested Bombers will face the Dalby Swans on neutral territory. Dalby led at every break last week and Alison Moore booted 6 majors in a best on ground performance against the Tigers and was well supported by Shaye Easton and Nicole Mairs. South Toowoomba has been inconsistent this season and with three rounds left before finals, will be looking to soar into September with winning form.
The Bombers pushed the Swans in their last meeting, on Dalby home turf and will again be looking to the likes of Renee Pickering, Lauren Mckeiver and Danielle Newman who have all been consistent contributors. However, the key to the Bombers winning may just be in young stars Georgia Osborne and Taylor McCosker.
