Following a review of the 2017 Worksafe Victoria Community Championships campaign, and a subsequent Board meeting, the Gotafe Goulburn Valley League is pleased to announce that 2017 Coach Luke Morgan, has been reappointed as the Gotafe GVL’s Senior Football team coach.
Gotafe GVL Chairman David Roff is looking forward to Morgan leading the GVL again in 2018.
“The Board is very impressed with Luke’s motivation and passion for this role and we know he is already thinking of what is required to get the League climbing back up the rankings in 2018” he said.
“Whilst the result in Wodonga was disappointing, Luke was responsible for an excellent preparation and he assembled a great support team.”
“Buy in from clubs was excellent and we look forward to building on that next year. Discussions will be had with a view to making further appointments as soon as possible”
“Such is the cut throat nature of interleague footy we have been only 11 points shy in two games over two years so we know we are not far off the pace but are very keen to get back on the winners list.”
With the recent announcement of his reappointment at the Benalla Saints for at least another season, Morgan is in for another busy year in 2018.
“I’m very pleased to be appointed coach of the interleague team for a second year and I'm looking forward to building on the progress we made this season” he said.
“Although the result didn't go our way in 2017, as a coaching staff we believe that we have put a structure in place to enable success in coming seasons.”
“I look forward to working with the best the GVL has to offer in terms of football talent. We were able to expose some younger players to higher level football this season and some of these players were able to perform really well in the game.”
“I’m looking forward to the challenge again and will be in contact with the players over the off season to enhance the player commitment to representing the GVL.”
