MURCHISON-TOOLAMBA V STANHOPE
Murchison-Toolamba will take a huge amount of confidence into this contest with finals bound Stanhope.
The Grasshoppers went within one goal of pulling off what would have been one of the best wins in the club’s history.
Coach Alice Cunningham will be hoping her girls can replicate the same form that they showed against the reigning premier and avoid a third straight defeat.
The Lions have been in red hot form during the middle part of the season, winning five games on the trot, but coach, Kerrie Gray knows this will be a big challenge for her young girls.
If the young Lions can cope with the heat that will come their way from the more experienced Grasshoppers then they could cause an upset.
Tip: Murchison-Toolamba.
NAGAMBIE V AVENEL
Nagambie knows the challenge that awaits it when it plays the reigning premier today.
There will be plenty at stake in this contest, with Avenel having the wood over its rival in recent times.
The Lakers want to claim the win, knowing that Tallygaroopna will leap ahead of it on percentage if it continues its good form of late.
Nagambie will be fresh going into this contest, having had the bye last round while the Swans will be ready for the challenge having won a one goal thriller against Murchison-Toolamba last round.
There will be certainly no love lost between these fierce rivals while the netball will also be very good.
Tip: Nagambie.
ARDMONA V UNDERA
Undera will be looking to get back on the winners’ list when it makes the short trip down the road to play Ardmona.
The Lions are sitting outside the top six and coach, Kate Murphy knows this is a game it must collect the four points to keep their dream alive of figuring in the finals.
She will remind her players of what transpired when these teams clashed in round two, so she will demand her players be switched on from the first whistle.
The Cats missed an opportunity last weekend when it was beaten by Longwood and the girls will find the improved Lions too hot to handle.
Tip: Undera.
LANCASTER V MERRIGUM
Merrigum will be looking to protect its hold on sixth spot when it travels the short distance to take on its arch rival.
This is a massive opportunity for the Bulldogs to make a big statement and score a resounding win against its rival – something the Wombats have dished out to them on many occasions when they have been at the top of their game.
Chelsea Nicholson, Alannah Scopelitti and Kate Cordingley have been some of the key contributors for the Doggies while the Wombats will look to Zoe Backway, Sophie Davies and Leanna Couston to try and turnaround some of the big losses of the past month.
Tip: Merrigum.
RUSHWORTH V TALLYGAROOPNA
Tallygaroopna will look to continue its winning ways, ready to pounce on the all-important second spot if Nagambie slips today.
The Redlegs’ have been strong both defensively and offensively.
Coach, Julie Telford is leading from defence while others to be shining include Madison Brett, Fiona Down and Lisa Hueston.
Rushworth has really struggled for wins in the middle part of the season after a consistent start to 2017.
If they don’t get off to a good start then they could be on the end of big loss to the Redlegs.
Tip: Tallygaroopna.
GIRGARRE V VIOLET TOWN
The equation is simple for Violet Town today. Keep winning and finals is a real possibility.
Some of the team’s regulars in Brooke Bradshaw, Kellie Holmes and Meagan James will be important in ensuring the Lions keep the pressure on the teams above them.
They are currently out of the top six on percentage despite been level on points with the Grasshoppers, Stanhope and Merrigum.
Girgarre has really struggled for wins this season and it will find it tough to combat a Lions outfit which has more to play for.
Tip: Violet Town.
