Statement Match 1 July 2017
Wirrulla v Western Districts
The A Grade match between Wirrulla and Western Districts at Wirrulla on 1 July 2017 was abandoned with 9.27minutes to play in the final quarter. This was due to concern for an on ground injury, where it was assessed that player should not be moved whilst an ambulance was called.
Mid West Football League acknowledges and is grateful to the officials of both clubs and also registered nurse who attended the player ensuring that he received the best care whilst the medical retrieval took place. The professional management of those who administered first aid was outstanding. Thankyou to everyone who assisted in any way and best wishes to the player concerned for a speedy recovery
The match is awarded to Western Districts in terms of the Laws Australian Football 10.6.2 (part c), where the match was not able to commence within the allotted time frame. (extract of the Laws is available here, please enlarge to read)
