Currently sitting in 5th spot with 12 points, Drysdale is just one point behind 4th placed Surfside Waves, who are at home to 6th placed Lara United in what is expected to be another close game at Shell Road Reserve on Friday night (tonight).
Should the Waves stumble against the northern Geelong side, Drysdale will be keen to pounce on the opportunity and will be supremely motivated for their clash in Breakwater.
In the other Friday night game, 3rd placed Deakin Ducks will be faced with a relatively easy task when they host Friday night specialists Barwon Heads at Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus.
On Sunday, top side Barwon will be out for a percentage booster when it hosts the winless FC Leopold at Grovedale Reserve. The debutante club is firmly entrenched to the bottom, but will be keen to cause the upset of the season in their clash with the short priced favourites and hot title contenders,
In the final game of the round, 8th placed Surf Coast hosts 7th placed Geelong Rangers at Banyul Warri Reserve in what is shaping up to be yet another closely fought contest on Sunday.
