UNDERA v MERRIGUM
Undera will be looking to regain its mojo after suffering a fourth straight defeat on the weekend.
The Lions surprised the entire competition by collecting 22 points from its six matches. However it has really struggled when matched against some of the contenders of the competition.
Defeat to Stanhope last weekend pushed the Lions out of the top six for the first time this season.
Coach Kate Murphy will be reminding her players to go back to what they were doing well early in the season.
During the past month Murphy has moved some of her girls around and she knows they will need to play well to combat a Merrigum team in form and sitting inside the top six.
Tip: Merrigum.
RUSHWORTH v STANHOPE
Stanhope will be looking to continue its climb up the ladder when it makes the short trip down the road to take on neighbour Rushworth.
The young Lions have gradually been improving each week and scored probably their best win when accounting for a more experienced Undera combination.
They haven’t been a high scoring this year, but Kerrie Gray has her team defending well, meaning opposition teams need to work hard to break them down.
Rushworth has improved this season and it will be eager to add to the three wins it has chalked up.
They last won on May 20, but also got a share of the spoils the following week against Lancaster.
Tip: Stanhope.
LANCASTER v NAGAMBIE
Lancaster is showing improvement with each game it plays and it will face another big challenge against one of the premiership fancies.
Coach Laura Thomson will look to its two inter-league representatives in Leanna Coulston and Sophie Davies to continue their good form which has seen the team collect six points from its last three matches.
Nagambie has been in blistering form after its opening day defeat, averaging 54 goals a game and conceding 31 to the opposition.
Coach Abby Misti will be wary of the Wombats and she will be urging her players to be switched on from the first whistle and be ready for the challenge.
Tip: Nagambie.
GIRGARRE v AVENEL
Girgarre will face yet another huge challenge when it takes on the defending champion and current ladder leader.
The Swans have been ruthless this year showing little mercy for its rivals.
Avenel has been shooting at an average of 51 goals per week and but even better for the Swans has been their defending conceding only an average of 27 goals per match.
The Kangaroos have really struggled at both ends of the court and will find this challenge too difficult today.
Tip: Avenel
LONGWOOD v VIOLET TOWN
Violet Town will be looking to consolidate its place in the top 6.
It currently holds onto 6th position and will be eager to record a big win and keep the chasing pack underneath them at bay for another week.
Despite not winning a game this season, Longwood has shown patches of good form in their games.
However to be any chance of an upset win it must focus on playing good netball for the entire 4 quarters.
Tip: Viloet Town
ARDMONA v TALLYGAROOPNA
Tallygaroopna will be looking to consolidate its place in the top bracket of teams and keep the pressure on the top 2 teams.
Ardmona has really struggled in recent weeks, suffering some heavy defeats.
Their challenge against Tallygaroopna today has been made that little bit harder by the fact that the visitors are the highest scoring team in the competition.
And if that wasn’t enough they are also one of the best defensive teams.
Tip: Tallygaroopna
