Apprenticeships Group Australia Rookie of the Year nominations have been named for April and May. The AGA Rookie of the Year is awarded to the best rookie of the 2017 season playing in Senior football and A Grade netball. Players are nominated each month of the 2017 TRFM Gippsland League season and voted on at the end of the year to find the AGA Rookie of the Year.
Football players must be under the age of 20 and have played less than 10 senior games in the TRFM Gippsland League and 12 TAC Cup games in previous seasons.
Netball players must be under the age of 20 and have played less than 15 A Grade games in previous TRFM Gippsland League seasons.

McLindin made his senior debut in 2016, playing two games for the Magpies in round 5&6 at the age of 16. This season he has been a key player in the Sale forward line kicking 14 goals from his 7 matches. This is highlighted by his 6 goal performance in Round 4 against Morwell where he was named best on ground.
A product of the Sale Junior Football Association, McLindin is one of the younger brigade that Sale hope develop into key senior players for the future.

Emma Allman

Age: 16
Maffra Junior – TRFM Gippsland League
Allman has become a regular in the Maffra A Grade side in 2017 where she has featured in all 8 games. The 15 & Under TRFM Gippsland League 2016 best and fairest, she was also a key part of the Maffra premiership team.
Playing as the A Grade starting centre Allman has already polled Gippsland Cosmetic Laser Clinic MVP votes in three games this season. She has featured regularly at representative level for the TRFM Gippsland League. This season she has been a member of the Regional Victorian Netball League winning side and was also a member of the 17 & Under side that went through undefeated at Association Championships.

Anthony Rosato

Rosato has proven to be one of the brightest young prospects in the league this year after transferring over from Newborough in the off season. He started off the season impressively for his new club being named in the best players for the first four rounds. A senior MGFL premiership player at age 17, Rosato has continued to grow in the TRFM Gippsland League.
A tough inside midfielder, Rosato featured in the Worksafe Community Championships Under 18 Interleague side that defeated AFL Yarra Ranges this season. He was judged best on field and received the AFL Victoria medal.
APRIL - NETBALL
Renee Barry
BAIRNSDALE FNC / GOALER
Age: 17
Wy-Yung Junior – East Gippsland FNL
Barry has made a big impact since joining the TRFM Gippsland League. Already in 2017 she has made her A Grade debut and formed part of the 17 & Under side that defeated AFL Yarra Ranges at Senior Interleague this year. Barry was also a member of the 17 & Under side that went through undefeated at Association Championships.
Barry is a tall goaler that can also be played in defence. She put her name into lights in round 3 with her 28 goal effort against Warragul which also secured her two votes in the Gippsland Cosmetic Laser Clinic MVP award.
