Domestic Coaches Clinic

I’d like to invite your domestic coaches along to a ‘Domestic Coaches Education Session’ to be held this Sunday from 9-10.30am at Montmorency SC.

However this ‘clinic’ is a little different. There will be no kids demonstrating whilst coaches sit back and get cold! We will have the coaches on the court and active taking part in the skills and drills and learning the techniques first hand. It is a fun environment for your less experienced coaches to learn the skills and drills our young players need to know.

The typical target group for this is your Mum and Dad coaches who have been roped into coaching and are after the extensions for their teams. Education of our beginner shouldn’t cost a fortune, so we are pleased to provide this for our coaches as well as yours, free of charge.

I will run this particular session myself, so to give you some of my coaching background:

-Koonung domestic coach for 13 years and then have continued at Eltham for the last 7 years (everything from beginner programs and U9 C grade to U16 A grade)

-Camberwell/Nunawading Spectres/Bulleen and Eltham Junior Championship coach over the last 16 years (U12 boys and girls to U18 boys and girls)

-2010 Australian Junior Coach for FIBA World Junior Camp –Istanbul

-Presented 21 of the ‘old’ Level 1 Coaching Courses for Basketball Victoria

-Head Coach of 2011 Women’s State Championship winning team for Eltham

-Basketball Victoria’s Community Development Coordinator 2005-2010

Coaches are encouraged to register so we have an idea on numbers and can provide additional coaching educators if required. Your coaches can do register here: https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi?formID=70112

We’d welcome your coaches to come along and enjoy the opportunity with the aim of providing coaches across the EDJBA with more knowledge and skills to assist the players from your club.

Regards
