A Partnership for Lebanon

Emirates, the Dubai-based global airline, is set to ensure that the future of basketball in Lebanon flies high after signing a partnership agreement with the Lebanese Basketball Federation, which includes the sponsorship of the National Team.

The Federation and Emirates Airline announced the partnership in a press conference on Friday June 13th , 2008 at restaurant Canyon .The press conference was held in the presence of Tamador Kouatly, Emiratesâ Manager in Lebanon, The President of the FLB, Pierre Kakhia, the secretary General Fares El Modawar, FLB board members and the National Team Coaching staff.

Mr. Modawar opened the press conference by welcoming the gathered media and thanking Emirates for its generous sponsorship.

Miss Kouatly, said: "The Lebanese National Basketball players encapsulate the same team spirit, zest and dedication that has taken Emirates forward from its humble beginnings in 1985 to the exciting, vibrant, international airline it is today, serving over 60 countries on six continents.

"Like the diversity of Emiratesâ destinations and multicultural staff, Emirates supports global events and teams in many countries, and we are proud to be able to add the Lebanon National Basketball Team to that impressive list. I would like to wish the teams the best of luck throughout the basketball season."
