NAGAMBIE v UNDERA
Undera faces a massive challenge of its improvement this season when it takes on the all-conquering Nagambie.
The 2015 premier has been in really hot form of late, winning all its matches since dropping its game to Avenel on the opening day of the season.
The Lions have slipped under the radar this season and currently sit third on the ladder after four wins and a draw this season.
Coach Kate Murphy has done a brilliant job with the girls and she will be eager to see how her team responds after losing to Murchison-Toolamba last weekend.
Tip: Nagambie.
MURCHISON-TOOLAMBA v RUSHWORTH
Murchison –Toolamba will be brimming with confidence having won three games on the trot.
Alice Cunningham, Carly Tuhan and Sharne Milne have been some of the girls to be leading their charge in recent weeks.
The Grasshoppers have been very good during their run of wins, especially when getting the score on the board.
They have also been very good defensively.
Rushworth has improved this season and currently sit inside the top six.
This is a huge game in the context of both these teams’ seasons, with the winner consolidating their place in the top six.
Tip: Murchison-Toolamba.
MERRIGUM v TALLYGAROOPNA
Merrigum will be chasing a third consecutive win when it takes on Tallygaroopna.
The Redlegs’ rediscovered their mojo in Lisa Hueston’s milestone game last weekend and expect them to really take the game up to the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will need to dish up much of what they have in their past two victories. If they can’t then they will struggle to match the talent of the Redlegs.
Tip: Tallygaroopna.
LANCASTER v GIRGARRE
Lancaster will be eager to build on last weekend’s effort when it drew with Rushworth. The Wombats have been improving with each game and the experience of Leanna Couston is setting the tone for the youngsters who have come into the squad.
Girgarre has really struggled for consistency during the opening six weeks and coach Deb McCardel will be desperate to see her team put together four quarters.
If the Kangaroo girls can string together four quarters then they will be a chance of registering their second win of the season.
Tip: Lancaster.
STANHOPE v ARDMONA
Stanhope is sitting in very unfamiliar territory in 11th place on the table, having only won the one game this season.
The Lions are a completely different unit this season, with a lot of new face stepping up to A grade under Kerrie Gray.
They also have a number of younger girls in the starting seven that are still finding their feet.
Ardmona has a more experienced seven than Stanhope and it will fancy its chances of victory, but to win it will need to get some early scoreboard pressure on to put some doubt in the minds of the Lion girls.
Tip: Stanhope.
AVENEL v LONGWOOD
Avenel has been outstanding this season and remains at the top of the ladder after six straight wins.
Despite losing some key players from last year’s premiership team it hasn’t slowed them down with some really good wins to date against contenders Tallygaroopna and Nagambie.
Longwood has shown some improvement this year, but it will find this challenge a little too difficult.
Tip: Avenel.
