It may have been a Championships of mixed results, but the Darling Downs had several individual performances that were awarded with accolades.
Firstly, club players Zimmorlei Farquharson (Dalby Swans) and Nyengela Mwajuma (University Cougars) were named in the 2017 Under 15 Queensland School Girls State side to contest the National Championships in Perth in July.
Zimmorlei was also voted as the Most Valuable Player by the officials for the Girls QSS State Championships and awarded the MVP Trophy at the closing ceremony.
AFL Darling Downs Umpire Association goal official, Cayleb Fidge will travel with the contingent of Queensland officials and represent the region at the Nationals as well.

The DD boys finished the championships with 1 win and 3 losses, while the girls finished with 2 wins and 2 losses.
AFL Queensland Regional Manager, Jeff Neumann was delighted with the several announcements from the Queensland School Sport State Championships.
"To have two players and one official to represent the region at National Championship level is a great result," Regional Manager Neumann said.
"We have many talented male and female athletes across the region and we are putting in place planning to ensure we are always represented at the top level at all times," Neumann added.
