Willetton vs Bunbury

With the Tigers heading down South to take on the Bunbury Slammers in Collie, Women’s coach Robyn Winter was alarmed to find that 3 of her players had missed a turnoff, and were unable to warm up. This non ideal preparation meant that the Slammers got the jump on the Tigers squad, who battled valiantly to retain the lead by half time. On the back of some determined work by the Starters in the third quarter, the Tigers held firm to close out a 74 – 67 win, with a handy 20 points from Melissa Marsh.

The Tigers Men continued their extended shooting slump, missing an alarming amount of 3 point attempts. Through some inside work by Luke Kunkel (23 points) and Clint Read (15 points) the Tigers were able to trade baskets with the home side, but eventually slumped to a 93 to 79 point loss, leaving the Men stalled in 9th position on the ladder.

The Willetton Basketball Association is holding its main stadium fundraiser this Friday night with a Quiz night at the Stadium. With an amazing cache of auction items and prizes, you would be mad to miss out, be sure to contact the stadium on 9310 3388 and book one of the few remaining tables now.
