Souths United Women have consolidated their spot in the top four with a 3-0 victory over Gold Coast City Women on Tuesday night.
Souths now move four points clear of fifth-placed UFC Women, while the loss sees City fall further away from the league’s top sides.
Three first half goals proved to be the difference with the first coming off the boot of Elise Franco on 11 minutes.
A brilliant solo run and finish from Deeanna Thompsn doubled the hosts lead minutes later before Tayler Stevens headed home to have Souths well on top after just half hour.
The goals dried up for the hosts, but more importantly they didn’t allow Gold Coast back into the contest, managing to keep their fifth clean sheet of the season.
City have now conceded 10 goals in their last two outings with no reply, and now host the winless Pride next weekend.
Souths' next opponent is PlayStation 4 NPL Women's Queensland’s other winless side in Brisbane Olympic at Wakerley Park.
