Ladder leaders Peninsula Power Women have continued their fine form with a 5-1 win over Souths United Women on Sunday afternoon.
With an astonishing +38 goal difference, the Power were keen to add to their tally, and would do so after just seven minutes, with Kelly Jenks capitalising on a keeper error to open the scoring.
Jenks would later turn provider for Golden Boot leader Brooke Barbuto, who received the through ball and was able to slot home and double their advantage ten minutes before the interval.
Just minutes later, however, Souths would pull one back, with Deeana Thompson’s miraculous floating effort lobbed over Celeste Peterson to halve the deficit.
The second half would prove to be all Peninsula Power though, with Jenks and Barbuto both grabbing doubles, in addition to defender Jessie Davis’ header from a corner.
Peninsula Power travel to Heath Park to take on Easts next round, with just a three point lead over The Gap, while Souths will entertain Brisbane Olympic at home, looking to remain in the top four.
