Thank you to everyone who read the last newsletter and gave comments. I will be attempting to make this a fortnightly means of communication. If you have something you would like mentioned in the newsletter please email me and I can add it to the next edition. Please also keep your eye on the website for news and information and Facebook. I do not want to overwhelm people with information, but think this is a definite area we needed to improve. We are now into the second half of the Challenge season, so registrations and teams are well and truly sorted. Please read on for more news........ |

Survey results and feedback Thank you to those members who took the time to complete the survey that was sent out. It certainly gave us plenty to think about, act on and use for future strategic planning. There are a multitude of suggestions and comments that were able to be improved immediately, some have to be worked on and some are simple matters of communication and understanding. I will try and address some of these issues each week so everyone can see what is happening. It is NOT too late to have your say. |

Lights - By now you will have all had a chance to test out the new lights. These lights are ALOT brighter than previously and will take some time to adjust. They have been tested with their LUX output and are suitable for up to International competition. They emit between 4-5 degrees less heat than the old ones and are 40% cheaper to run. They final 4 have been placed today on Court 2 so the job is complete. Huge thanks to Platinum Electrics for their speedy work and sharpening their pencil to enable us to get all of the required lights within our budget. Air conditioning - The air conditioning unit has had some work done on it and is now running well. I am sure those that have played on Saturday noticed the difference. We may have to start selling hoodies to combat this change in temperature. The fan on Court 1 and 2 does cause some "strobing" but it is not high enough to cause any medical concern. The fan can be turned off at any time if it is affecting the game. The fan is able to be turned on by teams for training but we ask that if you are the last in the stadium to please turn it off. |

CROSSING - Quite a few people mentioned in the survey their safety concerns regarding the crossing (or lack of) from the carpark to the facility. Please be advised that we have addressed this with council and are awaiting advice of works. We have earmarked it as an urgent concern from the Board some time ago and have re addressed this issue, using your valuable comments and hope for some speedy action. Whilst we are waiting, please think of these safety issues when driving near the stadium and slow down. New Competition – We will be implementing a "new competition", designed for Under 8's to progress from Aussie Hoops into the U10 Competition. This will be a great training ground for new referees, coaches and scoretable also. This will commence from 31st July. More information soon................ SCORE TABLE – There will be a number of "absolute beginner" score table courses run over the next few weeks. They will be run on a Saturday at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. If you are interested in learning the basics of scoring and referee hand signals then please keep your eye out for these. To improve our game, all parents will be required to assist in some way. Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
