SWQ Thunder have kept their top four hopes alive with a comfortable 3-0 win over Olympic on Wednesday night.
A hat-trick for Louise Rolfe was the difference between the sides as the Thunder recorded their thing win of the season to move within four points of fourth-placed Souths United.
Olympic had the better of the early chances before Jessica Fry combined with Rolfe to hand the Thunder the lead.
Five minutes later and the Thunder had a two-goal buffer as Rolfe beat the offside trap to breakthrough in defence the Olympic defence and coolly slot her second of the night.
Olympic had a shot cleared off the line shortly before half-time and matters got worse 11 minutes after the break, as Rolfe completed her hat-trick, seemingly putting the result beyond doubt.
Olympic had their chances to pull one back, but were unable to break through the Thunder defence, falling to their fifth consecutive defeat.
Olympic now face a short turnaround before facing Gold Coast City at home while the Thunder travel to face bottom-placed Western Pride on Sunday evening.
