AVENEL V TALLYGAROOPNA
This promises to be one of the games of the season – even at this early stage in the season.
Tallygaroopna’s Julie Telford will feel this is a great chance to inflict the Swans’ first loss of the season.
Premiership coach Kath Hard has not taken the court since the opening day of the season due to an ankle injury and some say she still may not return to the line up again.
In a further blow the Swans suffered another key injury to one of its starting seven in their win last round.
Tahla Sidebottom and Lisa Hueston will be two of the girls leading the charge to see the Redlegs’ rebound after a loss to Nagambie.
Tallygaroopna was out-played against last year’s runner-up and Telford knows the girls will need to dish up a four quarter effort to come away with the win.
Tip: Tallygaroopna.
STANHOPE v VIOLET TOWN
After a flying start to the season, Violet Town has come back to the field with successive losses against last year’s grand finalists.
Co-coaches Meagan Hausner and Brooke Bradshaw will be hoping the team can re-capture the early season form when they take on a young Stanhope outfit.
The Lions have had some good games this season, but suffered a loss last start at the hands of Merrigum.
Coach Kerrie Gray knows this year is going to see her team have some ups and downs.
She will be eager to get some games into some of the club’s talented youngsters, preparing them for the rigors of A grade netball.
Tip: Violet Town.
LANCASTER v UNDERA
This promises to be a fantastic game of netball. Lancaster has bounced back from a slow start to record back-to-back wins while Undera has made an outstanding start to the season under new coach Kate Murphy.
Murphy has been leading by example and her battle with Leanna Couston from Lancaster will go a long way to deciding who wins the four points.
Young Sophie Davies was outstanding in the A grade inter-league win over the Golden Rivers while the Lions have added some class and experience in Amanda Gledhill in the past fortnight.
She has proved to be a key contributor in the last two victories.
Tip: Undera.
MURCHISON-TOOLAMBA v LONGWOOD
Murchison-Toolamba will be aiming for back-to-back wins when it takes on the winless Longwood.
Despite not winning a game, Jac Martin has the Redlegs’ girls playing some really good netball.
They are getting closer to a win with every game and Murchison-Toolamba coach Alice Cunningham will be reminding her girls to not take this game for granted.
The Grasshoppers have been playing some good netball, but struggle to string together four even quarters.
If they can produce four good quarters then they should win the four points.
Tip: Murchison-Toolamba.
GIRGARRE V RUSHWORTH
Rushworth has had some really good games this season, but the girls would have been disappointed when they let an opportunity slip against Undera in round four.
The girls will be fresh having had back-to-back byes and Girgarre will be equally as fresh with none of their players playing in the inter-league game.
Deb McCardel knows that when her team is on they are very capable, but when they aren’t they struggle to match the opposition.
Four quarters of strong netball will be required to overcome an improved Rushworth team.
Tip: Rushworth.
