NEWS: GRFC Women's Div 2 and Junior Girl's results from Round 4

IN GRFC Women's Division 2 action last weekend, competition leaders Corio Bay totally outclassed Surfside Waves to win 10-0 in a Round 4 clash at Evans Reserve on Saturday afternoon, while a youthful Drysdale SC recorded its first win of the season, overcoming Surf Coast FC in Torquay North.

Stephanie Taylor starred for the Cobras with 4 goals whilst Rezehtar Tetty was busy on the wing all day and was rewarded with 2 goals. Demee Cook scored the opening and final goals of the match. Zoe Evans fought hard all day for the Ocean Grove outfit who fielded a very young team. The young Surfside girls have been thrown in the deep end and will be much better for the experience in the coming years.
 
Drysdale recorded their first win of the 2017 season with a 2-1 triumph over Surf Coast at Torquay's Banyul Warri Reserve. Rhiannan Glenister scored the opener and Bella Ankatell-Costa popped up with the winner.
 
In the other Division 2 game at the Bell Park Sports Centre, the home team came from 1-0 down at halftime to draw 1-1 with neighbouring Golden Plains.
 
Barwon SC had the bye.
 
IN THE Under 12 Girls' competition, North Geelong Warriors were too good away at Lara coming away with a 7-0 win with J Akmacic, H Skotnica and M Parkin all scoring twice. Surf Coast beat Barwon Heads 4-2 with L O'Toole netting a hat trick for the Torquay based side.
 
IN THE Under 15 Girls' league, the Laura Spiranovic coached North Geelong Warriors beat Surf Coast 1-0 with F Parkin scoring the winner. Golden Plains came away from Stead Park with a 1-0 win over Geelong SC with K Gordon scoring a first half winner. In the final game, Lara United beat Surfside Waves Red 6-1 with a hat trick each for L Stein and T Eastway.
